If you are having chemo or radiotherapy you're likely to have low levels of neutrophils or platelets. This means that any cuts can get easily infected or could bleed more than normal. You must avoid wet shaving because you might cut yourself so use an electric shaver instead. This is also less likely to irritate the skin.
If you're having radiotherapy to the head or neck area, don’t use any aftershaves and try to only shave every other day. If the skin starts to get sore, stop shaving altogether.
