Most people having treatment for cancer have a lot of extra expenses due to their illness. The staff caring for you will be aware of this and there should be staff who can help, like social workers and welfare rights advisers. They can help assess your situation and give advice about benefits that you may be able to claim.
People’s needs will vary. Some will be living at home with their parents, others may be living independently and may even have families of their own to support. This means that the information in this section can only give general advice to help you work your way through the benefits system.
The information is divided into sections:
- benefits Find out what benefits you might be entitled to as a young person with cancer.
- help with mobility Get yourself on the road.
- other organisations Places to get further information and advice.
