Some people might have a kidney removed as part of treatment. This doesn’t usually cause any problems because the remaining kidney makes up for the one taken out. Certain chemo drugs can cause kidney problems, so if you’ve had these drugs, it’s likely that you’ll have blood tests from time to time just to make sure your kidneys are working well.
If your kidneys are working well at the end of treatment it’s less likely that you’ll develop problems in the future.
