Something a bit more positive...

story added: 24/01/2008

Dottie (Hodgkin lymphoma, 20, F, England)

I thought I would write something else as my last message wasn't very positive!

So I finished my chemo about two weeks ago and I'm feeling better. I can't walk very well as the Vincristine in my chemo cause Neuropathy in my legs so I find it difficult walking. I walk a bit like a Thunderbird puppet - not very dignified! Lol. The fatigue has gone which is such a relief because I can go out more during the day, like I've been going out to the cinema a lot and having my mates round again. It's also just nice to not feel like I'm going to fall asleep all day.

Unfortunately school isn't really gonna happen any time soon because of my legs. Would be very embarassing - first day back and I fall flat on my face and then wouldn't be able to get back up again. That is not something I would enjoy! Hopefully in a couple of months though I'll be able to go back.

Planning on getting a kitten in a couple of weeks which is something to really look foward to and should keep me busy I'm sure! Also going to visit family this weekend and the next which will be so lovely as it will be the first time I've been out of London since my chemo started.

Had my routine MRI and CT scans on Monday and I managed to fall asleep in the MRI! Well I suppose it made it go by quicker!

Anyway I've written loads now so I'll be off!

Stay strong and positive people, much love xxx
