Just A Little Of What Ive Been Thro Up To Now...story added: 16/05/2009Carlyy (other:Secondary Stomach Cancer, 19, F, England)
Well my names carly, as you have probably guessed..im 18 years old and fighting my second cancer. I was diagnosed with stomach cancer when i was 17 (march 2008) and since then i have had two lots of chemotherapy treatment, a full gastrectomy and had a overie removed. So this is just to explain really what has happend to me. When i was diagnosed last year i was told that i was one of the youngest people ever seen n the uk to have stomach cancer, this obviously came as a shock to me but i got through it, i had three month chemo before i had my first operation which was in august 2008, and then had three lots of chemo when i had my operation. A full gastrectomy basically meens i have no stomach now, so i have to eat 6 small meals a day because i cant hold much more..but thats not too hard and ive learned to deal with it now, as anyone would have had to. But when i went for my 6month check up scan i was told that the cancer had spread to my right overie, and i had to have it removed my results from that operation have come back now and i have been told that i have a secondary stomach cancer, meening that the cancer in my overie was not a new cancer. At the moment i am waiting to find out what treatment i will need next as the doctors and oncologist have'nt yet desided..so yeah thats where im up to, i just thort if anyone wanted to talk about their experiance's then it would be nice to talk to other people having some kind of cancer treatment
