Lucia's Story |

Hi everyone. My name's Lucia, I'm 18 years old and was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, aka, A.L.L. on 28th march 2005 when I was 15. It was tough, I went through a year of intensive chemo and finished my maintenence chemo 8 months ago in august 07. I was in and out of hospital all the way through-over 100 nights-and I wasn't your "typical" patient. The maintenance bit was as hard as the intense and I was neutropenic most of the time! I was treated on a childrens ward. I have to go to clinic every six weeks and I'm due to move over to adult services in August. I am now at sixth form college resitting my first year and studying English lang/lit, politics and R.E. Life is slowly returning to normal, the only effects I still have are weakness, bad feet and fatigue. Notes left for bandanna_babeAdding pictures or videoHi Lucia, Unfortunately we can't add a slide slideshow to the site. However, if you have a flickr account you can upload your pictures there and we can add a slideshow...or you can send me some pictures to thomas@cancerbackup.org and I'll create the slideshow for you. I hope that's ok?
