Hiya im jordan im 13. I discovered my tumour in june 2005 and had 14 hours of surgery in september 2005 and spent 3 weeks in intensive care. Im having radio iodine treatment . I found 3 lumps in my neck. Doctors said it was normal but it got painful. I had scans, blood tests and a biopsy. It came back as cancer. I froze! I now know how it feels and how hard it is to keep smiling. Its so emotional ,one minute you are happy then you start crying.
Notes left for lilly711people are so mean. how could they think you hypocondriac with those types of things?! thats amazing, youre so strong! how are you actually doing tho, are you okey? thats alot to take on and you are so young. are you okey to do school or anything like that? i havnt been in school since april my life is kindof in a stand still. xox Sara

Left by SaraLeigh im so glad my thyroxin is working i used to get all of my emotions in extrems id be really really happy.. which i didnt mind.. or really really sad.. which was horrible.. I live in Canada and they dont have very many low iodine foods so i lost alot of weight when i had to do the diet. i was a wreck because not only did i not have my pills but i didnt have any food ither! they keep telling me that my nausia isnt due to my cancer but they also have no answers to why im sick, its very frustrationg. Do you take anything for your nausia? and if you dont mind me asking what are your other health problems? xox Sara

Left by SaraLeigh Wow, you must be so strong. Thats a VERY long surgery. I've been woking on all of this for 2 and a half years, they actually found the cancer by accident. I was in the hospital for loosing to much weight and they just happend to catch it. They decided to only take half of my thyroid and send it away for testing and when it came back it was positive for follicular carcinoma.. which I hear is one of the better ones to have.. they then called me back to the hospital for a second surgery, a full thyroidectomy. A month or so later i was givin a radioiodine treatment. Since its been blood test after blood test and im still nausious or sick every day. Right now im having a thyrogen kit which has 2 injections a pill and a body scan so that i dont have to go on the low iodinediet again.. because that SUCKED.. my thyrogen levels are higher then they are supposed to be so im not to sure whats goin on yet but i will keep you in touch. Good luck to you with everything. - Sara
