send a smile to a child or teen with cancer

Hello. I hope its ok to post this here but I'm a bit desperate and I thought people who understood what some kids go through might be willing to make a difference (it only takes 5 minutes).

We feature seriously ill children on our website www.postpals.co.uk and invite members of the public to log on and send cards, letters, emails and little gifts to brighten the child's day. Only recently the kids have received very little post, hence my message I'm putting here.

If any of you would like to make a difference just go to www.postpals.co.uk and follow the "5 easy steps" on the home page.

The following children are going through cancer/tumours/chemo

Alex- aged 17 has a brain tumour http://postpals.co.uk/pals/Alex+C
Alice- aged 13 has hodgkins and is in hospital a lot http://postpals.co.uk/pals/Alice+P
Ashley (male)- aged 6 has neuroblastoma http://postpals.co.uk/pals/Ashley+H
Ben- 9 has leukemia http://postpals.co.uk/pals/Ben+S
Daniel- 13 and osteosarcoma and spending a lot of time in hospital http://postpals.co.uk/pals/Daniel+A
Darin- 8 has a benign brain tumour but has been through years of chemo, radiation, surgeries etc http://postpals.co.uk/pals/Darin+K
Gaby- 10 has thyroid cancer http://postpals.co.uk/pals/Gaby+M
Jack- 7 has leukemia http://postpals.co.uk/pals/Jack+Peter+B
Katie- 5 has neuroblastoma http://postpals.co.uk/pals/Katie+P
Kerry- 11 has a brain tumour http://postpals.co.uk/pals/Kerry+F
Kian- 2 doesn't have cancer but has just had intensive chemo and is having a bone marrow transplant http://postpals.co.uk/pals/Kian+B
Madi is 3 and very ill, the doctors are just hoping to find a way to control her pain, please check her page before sending anything http://postpals.co.uk/pals/Madison+P
Megan H- 6 has been left paralysed by neuroblastoma and has frequent spinal surgeries as a result http://postpals.co.uk/pals/Megan+H
Rhianna-doesnt have cancer but is under going chemo for her condition http://postpals.co.uk/pals/Rhianna+J
Tom- has a form of leukemia which currently doesnt need to be treated but he is still ill and struggles http://postpals.co.uk/pals/Tom+S
Zackary- 4 has leukemia http://postpals.co.uk/pals/Zachary+H

Thank you, if possible please also send a note to their siblings as they often feel left out. Thank you!

If you would like to know how your card can make a difference then please see this video (which includes Megan who I mentioned above) http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&hl=en-GB&v=l42sKtdPXrw

Thank you,

postpals

Dear Vikkilouise -

I found this web site when I was looking for sites that support teens with cancer, because I was answering a post on the Macmillan cancer site (Share).

I post regularly on the Macmillan Share site, ever since my husband was diagnosed with cancer. Like so many sites, it has been a great help at a very difficult time It is full of people facing cancer themselves, or their relatives, so everyone there knows how scary it is to get a cancer diagnosis.

I hadn't heard of Postpals before, but now that I have read about it here I will join in with it. Would you like me to mention it on the Share site? I don't think I've seen it mentioned there, and I'm sure there are a lot of people on Share who would love to 'send a smile' to a child facing cancer or other severe illness.

I'm sure between us we can get some 'smiles' sent off to the children you mention in your post.

With best wishes, JulieJ
