There are sometimes TVs or laptops that you can watch films on by your bedside. You will need to have headphones for these, as well as for your walkman or MP3 player, so that you don’t disturb anyone who wants to sleep. In some hospitals, mobile phones are banned because they can interfere with sensitive hospital equipment. In others you can use them in certain areas but when you are on the ward, your mobile will need to be kept on silent. There will be payphones on most wards that you can use.
